The apartment “Kiepenkerl” with an open living and sleeping area is spacious and comfortable. The red accent of the furnishings references this special landmark of our city.
Red scarf, blue gown, wooden clogs, pipe and a pannier basket; this is the outfit that Pannier Boys (Kiepenkerle) wore when they brought goods and news to the city in the old days. You can find the statue of the Kiepenkerl in the Spiekerhof in the old-town part of the city. One can still regularly find the travelling traders in the open-air museum Mühlenhof and with guided tours.
