One can say that the Prinzipalmarkt is Munster’s best room in the house and the apartment “Prinzipal” is the best room in our house. Delftware tiles, historic sandstone elements and a wide lattice-windowed front give this apartment its exceptional character.
The Prinzipalmarkt with its gabled houses and sandstone façades is an emblem of the city of Münster. Not one gable resembles another on the historically important street Marktstraße. In WWII, the houses on the Prinzipalmarkt were almost completely destroyed, and between 1947 and 1958 they were rebuilt to its near historical character. On this plaza you will also find the city’s Rathaus and the Stadtweinhaus.
